Bob is from Louisville, Stark County, Ohio and currently resides near Watertown, Washington County, Ohio. Bob earned a Bachelor of Science (1983) and a Master of Science (1986) in Geology from the University of Akron. He is currently a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), Ohio Oil and Gas Association (OOGA), Southeastern Ohio Oil and Gas Association (SOOGA), and the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG). Bob was inducted into the Ohio Oil and Gas Association Hall of Fame in the class of 2022.

Bob is President/Geologist of EMF Geoscience, Inc. which provides geological consulting, seismic interpretation, prospect generation, well-site geology, subsurface mapping, and geological database management services. His previous experience includes 2 years as a full-time mudlogger for Stratagraph, NE and 35 years as a consulting geologist. During this time he has done well-site geology on over 500 wells, interpreted over 500 square miles of 3D seismic in Ohio and Pennsylvania and generated over 100 Clinton Sandstone, Knox Group, and Point Pleasant Prospect Areas.

Devin currently resides in New Concord, Muskingum County, Ohio. Devin graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Geology and a minor in Petroleum Engineering from Marietta College in 2013, and a Master of Science in Geology from Ohio University in 2015. Devin is a member of the Ohio Oil and Gas Association (OOGA), Southeastern Ohio Oil Gas Association (SOOGA), Ohio Geological Society (OGS), the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), an Associate Member of the International Institute of Minerals Appraisers (IIMA), and carries an active Ohio Real Estate license. Devin is also a registered Certified Petroleum Geologist (CPG) through the AAPG Division of Professional Affairs, and serves on the Board of the Ohio University Geology Department.

Devin has been an employee at EMF Geoscience since 2010 and oversees EMF’s portfolio of clients, non-operated investments, projects, and prospects while generating new business ventures and strategic partnerships for the firm.


Jarrod Arnold

Jarrod is from and currently resides in Beverly, Washington County, Ohio. Jarrod graduated with an Associate of Science in Geoscience from Washington State Community College in 2012. Jarrod recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Marietta College in 2016 and was awarded the Charles Fritz Absolon Memorial Prize for being the top graduating geology major. He is a member of the Ohio Oil and Gas Association (OOGA), Southeastern Ohio Oil and Gas Association (SOOGA), and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG).

Jarrod has been an employee at EMF Geoscience since 2012. Jarrod is responsible for field operations, assisting in prospect development, analyzing well logs, creating geological cross-sections, correlating formation tops and porosity zones, well-site geology, and assisting in building a geological database.


Zachary Mullen

Zach is from Marietta, Washington County, Ohio and currently resides in Parkersburg, Wood County, West Virginia. Zach graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering from West Virginia University in 2015 and a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Marietta College in 2018. He is a member of the Ohio Oil and Gas Association (OOGA) and Southeastern Ohio Oil and Gas Association (SOOGA). Zach is also certified in Microsoft Access as a Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS).

Zach has been an employee at EMF Geoscience since 2013 and is the manager for the company’s geological database; responsible for updating existing data, expanding the database, and quality assurance.

Cory is from Lower Salem, Washington County, Ohio and currently resides in Williamstown, Wood County, West Virginia. Cory earned his Associates as an Electrical Engineering Technician and his Associates of Science in Geoscience from Washington State Community College in 2015. He is a member of the Ohio Oil and Gas Association (OOGA) and Southeastern Ohio Oil and Gas Association (SOOGA).

Cory has been an employee at EMF Geoscience since 2013 and is responsible for tracking non-op interest using GIS mapping, depth registering well logs, creating geological cross-sections, on-site gas evaluation, and assisting in building a geological database.

Bobby is from and currently resides in Watertown, Washington County, Ohio. Bobby graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and supplemental geologic and engineering classes from Marietta College in 2018. He was awarded the LaValle Award in Chemistry from the American Chemical Society. Bobby also graduated with a Master of Science in Economics from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University in August of 2022. Bobby is a member of the  American Chemical Society (ACS) and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG).

Bobby has been an employee at EMF Geoscience since 2012 and is currently responsible for petrophysical research of producing fields and NeuraLog services.


Jeffrey D. Grigsby, Ph.D, L.P.G.

Jeff is from Doylestown, Wayne County, Ohio and currently resides in Albany, Delaware County, Indiana. Jeff earned a Bachelor of Science (1982) in geology from the University of Akron, a Master of Science (1984) in geology from New Mexico State University, and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) (1989) in geology from the University of Cincinnati.

Jeff spent three years as a post-doctoral fellow and research associate at the University of Texas at Austin, Bureau of Economic Geology working in secondary gas recovery where he specialized in diagenesis, reservoir quality and petrophysics of Gulf Coast sandstones. In 1992, Jeff moved to Ball State University as a professor in the Department of Geological Sciences where he became the department chair in 2005 and later associate dean (2007) and interim dean (2016) of the College of Sciences and Humanities. He returned to the department in 2018 and began research in the application of chemostratigraphy to sequence stratigraphy and hydrocarbon exploration in mudstones. He retired from Ball State University in 2022 as Professor Emeritus of Geological Sciences but has continued his mudstone related research.

Jeff is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologist (AAPG), the Society for Sedimentary Geology (SEPM) and is a Licensed Professional Geologist (L.P.G.) in the state of Indiana. Jeff was inducted into the New Mexico State University Department of Geosciences Hall of Fame in 2019.

Cheryl is from Parkersburg, Wood County, West Virginia and currently resides in Mineral Wells, Wood County, West Virginia. Cheryl earned her Associate in Applied Science from West Virginia University at Parkersburg in 1991. Cheryl is a member of the Ohio Oil and Gas Association (OOGA) and Southeastern Ohio Oil and Gas Association (SOOGA).

Cheryl has been an employee at EMF Geoscience since 1990 and is responsible for providing clerical support for staff, answering the telephone, input well header permit information, and filing documents. As office manager, Cheryl addresses payroll, employee insurance, corporate accounts payable and receivable, and managing the daily functions of the office.
